On...the curious case of Herbert Jones...I think we can all agree that

---the key to Herb becoming an outstanding overall player...or not...depends on his 3-pt shooting %.
His first 4 years, stats say he has shot 33.7%...33.5%...41.8%...and 30.6% from the 3-pt line. It would seem obvious to me that the 41.8% should be considered an anomaly...BUT...today, I had a fairly sharp guy convince me that, by looking a bit closer, I would see that the 30.6% was actually the anomaly...and that Herb should shoot somewhere between 37-41% for the next several years.
Bottom line...Herb is gonna be a MUCH better overall player than nearly anybody thinks...from this point forward.

Herb is going into year 5 and was an older rookie. He is what he is at this point.

Opinions apparently vary...on whether Herb has "topped out" or not. For someone who has shot <34% on 3s in 3 of his 4 years...and...is coming of a year shooting 30.6% on 3s...and an injury...it seems to me that Herb is getting an awful lot of interest from several other teams.
My 'go to" man...on all matters concerning the NBA...says every team that has done their due diligence...has Herb rated MUCH higher than you would expect. Herb would be VERY easy to trade at a premium...for the Pels...according to my man and he says the Pels probably don't have another single player that could go at a premium.
Interesting time for "decision" on Herb...should be February...at the trade deadline.

We're not trading Herb unless we get a Miles Bridges-esqe return.
Joe Dumars was not hired to tank the 2025-2026 season. We're going keep Zion (for now) and try to win. Why would anyone who wants to win trade Herb?

Can both be the anomaly? I can't really see him doing either one of those again honestly and see him in the 35-7% range guy, which is basically his career average.
Would love for him to jump back to the 40% guy though, it was fun watching him knock down three's at that rate in 23/34. Dude was deadly from the corner.

Assuming you meant MIKAL Bridges-esqe return...I'm a huge fan of Herb BUT I kinda doubt Herb's return would be in that ballpark...
Knicks got:
Mikal Bridges
Keita Bates-Diop
2026 2nd-round pick
Draft rights to Juan Pablo Vaulet
Nets got:
Bojan Bogdanovic
Mamadi Diakite
Shake Milton
unprotected 1st-round pick in 2025
unprotected 1st-round pick in 2027
unprotected 1st-round pick in 2029
unprotected 1st-round pick in 2031
unprotected pick swap in 2028
top-four protected 2025 1st-round pick via Bucks
2nd round pick in 2025

‘23-24 was an anomaly. Herb made 47- 82 (57.3%) on right corner 3’s that year.
