quote:

What is this?

If you want to see frustration,
Take a swing and miss the ball.
In the lineup, hesitation,
No one’s hitting, none at all.
Want a hit? It’s pure delusion,
Runners stranded, bases cold.
Every at-bat’s an illusion,
Dreams of runs that won’t unfold.

In this world of pure exasperation,
Astros’ bats just can’t ignite.
No home runs, no celebration,
Slumps that haunt us every night.

Pop-ups soar to shallow spaces,
Groundouts roll to kill the play.
Strikeouts paint the players’ faces,
Chasing pitches far astray.
Oh, the scoreboard’s cruel and taunting,
Zeros stack up, inning’s done.
Fans all sigh, their hopes are haunting,
Waiting for that clutch, big run.

In this world of pure exasperation,
Astros’ bats just can’t ignite.
No home runs, no celebration,
Slumps that haunt us every night.

Walker got a couple hits, one very cheap, but still let’s move him back to 4 hole now, where he can truly be himself

AL West flat out sucks. Rangers lost their series to the White Sox too

I’ve been saying since like the second week if one of Yordan, J-Rod, Seager have MVP year or go 35/120 they could single handedly win the division.

I have no clue how the Mariners are mashing. 6 games against Houston they’ve struck out 67 times lol

So Cam smith, despite the ugly start is slashing .254/.340/.377 while playing excellent defense at a position hes new to.

For the month of May, hes hit .314 with on OBP right under .400. He's still not driving the ball as you'd like to see. Hasn't hit a long ball this month and only knocked in 3 runs. But when you consider where we was this time last year and how little development he had in the minors, you have to be pretty satisfied with how hes developing.

His at bats/strike zone recognition has been awesome.

He’s gotten like three 3-0 green lights this week and have taken impressive hacks. Had a single on 2-0 yesterday. His progression has been great, gotta assume the power will come as he’s getting more and more comfortable. Had the rough 4 punch out game against Tampa on Wednesday but has bounced back great against a good Seattle staff

Unrelated, but kinda related. Skubal just Maddux’d the Guards with 13 punch. Last pitch 103 lmfao. Hunter has a big ask to match that his next time out

No matter how things go otherwise for Dana, at least he nailed the Tucker trade.

Yeah they kind of tossed him the deep end. April was tough but seems like hes getting the hang of it in May.

Youre right the power should come. He's not really a pull side hitter at this point right? That's where hell find the consistent power. Pull the hands and turn on a fastball. He's going oppo which is a great approach for a young dude to develop, if he can add power to that and develop an all fields approach, he could be a good one.

2 runs will probably be enough with Castillo on the mound for Seattle

Why isn’t Jake in the cleanup spot at this point? Walker is bad but exceptionally bad when it matters.
