Will be interesting to see if Jay shakes up the top of the order. I remember him moving Beloso to leadoff in 23 and thinking how crazy that seemed until big boy got the job done.

The batting order isn’t the problem. It’s old school baseball wisdom to shake up the lineup when things aren’t going well but it’s not like we’re striking out a ton looking lost up there. We made good contact today, it just more often than not found a glove.

It’s wild how dumb yall are. I assume it’s old age, but also could be that higher IQ people don’t bother.

They take fastballs right down the middle a lot. Get behind in the count then are forced to protect the plate and swing at garbage. There are PLENTY of strikeouts, but just flailing your bat out there just to make contact isn’t working. It looks like bad mechanics to me on top of all that. It baffles me how hitters at this level can’t do the little things with their swings, bat angles , or have the ability to hit opposite field. The shift should be the biggest advantage in the game for a hitter in my opinion. Hell we were taught how to hit opposite field in 6th grade, but there wasn’t an entire side of the field open to do it lol.

there had better be a shakeup in the hitting lineup or all this really top notch pitching is going to go to waste.
Bear has to move down in the lineup. He moved up because we wanted our best hitters batting more. Well using the same logic, he and other need to move down in the lineup.
Pearson needs to play.
I hope the team finds some spark, but this latest exhibition going 14 innings without a run, is just not LSU baseball. Change anything but don't stay the same. It isn't producing runs.

They work counts and get pitchers out of the game as good as anyone in the country. They have the entire time Jay has been here.

LSU has the 2nd fewest strikeouts in the conference.

This isn't what's happening.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

In 6th grade guys didn't throw 97 with 20 inches of arm side run.

This doesn't even take into account the fact that LSU shoots the ball the other way all the time.

Best OBP is Dickinson followed by a tie between Curiel and Pearson. I would bat Dickinson 2nd because he’s a more versatile offensive player who can execute a bunt, steal, or hit and run, and let Jones and Frey bat 3rd and 4th.

I think the best run producing lineup would include Pearson, Brown, and Curiel as your outfield. Hernandez and Arambidie production is becoming more even too. At this point, you have to go with guys who you trust in the big moment.

If we were going to shake it up, it would be tough to do at this point. I think I would sacrifice a bit of overall by taking Stanfield out and looking for a lineup that is better able to produce runs. You’re already stuck with Braswell who only has 37 total bases and 16 RBIs. Stanfield gets on and scores, but he’s not driving in a lot of runs. He’s played all 32 SEC games and has 9 RBIs in SEC play.

Curiel
Dickinson
Jones
Frey
Brown
Milam
Pearson
Hernandez
Braswell

For wondering if Jay may do something he’s had a propensity for doing in the past? Yes, it’s amazing we know how to tie our shoes.

Calm down, Karen

Take a strike, swing at a ball in the dirt. Take a strike, swing at a ball in the dirt. 0 and 2, now what?
Let'em hit the first good pitch, coach. Put some pressure back on the pitcher, coach.
