Remember the ballot counting that went on for weeks after the election?

Looks like someone is hinting to want to do something about it

California state law allows it. What are you wanting US house members to do about it?
Hold meaningless political theater hearings?

Congress can make laws. Congress can mandate federal seats (POTUS/House/Senate) must be ID and must not accept ballots after closing on day of election and must have counts in by midnight.
It will never happen because uniparty, but they can fix it. Can’t fix state elections but my guess is this would fix local election issues too, since most would follow same rules for all elections.

California cannot make up laws that affect federal elections

Not a shock
Dem led States suck & love their illegals, ballot harvesting, high crime & degenerates

Yes they can

No they can’t, otherwise a state could lower or raise the age to vote or allow non citizens the right to vote. Are you serious?

This describes basically everything. Congress could, but they haven’t.
House Republicans can pass whatever they want in this arena, or any other. Nothing impacting federal elections is getting through the Senate

Well, unless it violates the U. S. Constitution, or hinders or contradicts some federal law on point.

Yes they can. The manner, time, and place of elections are the purview of the States unless Congress says otherwise.
The age to vote in federal elections is set by constitutional amendment. No, a state cannot alter that. But yes, a state can decide that it will accept ballots after Election Day, because Congress hasn’t told them that they can’t.
It’s right there in Article 1

Sure thing chief, allowing more time for votes to come in absolutely affects the time and manner. Your argument is nonsensical

No
It violates the constitution.

Honest question - has congress said verification of citizenship is a no no?

Time and manner are literally the things reserved to the states

Here’s the relevant quote, since I’m almost positive you’ve never read the constitution:
quote:
The Times, Places and Manner of holding Elections for Senators and Representatives, shall be prescribed in each State by the Legislature thereof; but the Congress may at any time by Law make or alter such Regulations, except as to the Places of chusing Senators.
Without Congress saying different, yes California can do what it’s doing

Nope. Silent on the issue. Hence state control of that issue.

It’s actually in line with the express text of the constitution.

Are you suggesting that the date for federal elections wasn’t set by Congress? Meaning a state couldn’t arbitrarily change it or lengthen it afterwards. I know you think you really nailed me but your argument is comical

Its up to Congress to Seat members, they should quit seating these stolen elections, then they would stop stealing the elections
