A fast food worker accused of fatally shooting a customer who complained about his order appeared in court Friday as new and disturbing details emerged about the incident outside a Checkers restaurant in Kissimmee.
The confrontation began as a typical customer complaint. Robertson reportedly asked multiple times to speak with a manager after receiving his order, possibly frustrated over missing condiments. What followed was an extraordinary escalation, ending in a fatal shooting that stunned the local community and raised concerns over workplace violence, especially in customer service environments
Mackey fled the scene on foot, running past nearby attractions before being apprehended.

I ate lunch at that Checkers years ago, about once per week. The food changed to not good around 10 years ago, so I quit going. I am glad I didn't complain.

Every checkers I have seen has turned into a coffee shop drive thru

I wonder why these stories never mention if the shooter had passed a background check and if he was licensed to conceal carry?
I believe it is intentionally not done so that the numbers would not look totally one sided.

It’s amazing how many people now days really are not afraid to waste their life by shooting someone.

Checkers in Fort Worth early 90s was for three months my favorite place to get something to eat after a drunken party or softball game

You’ve never truly lived unless you’ve been to the Checkers in Shreveport at the corner of Hollywood and Jewella.
There’s a Southern Classic Chicken and a scrap metal yard across the street.
You can sell some scrap copper, grab some fried chicken, a Checkers burger, and witness a drive-by all at the same intersection.
Plus there a funeral home at the opposite corner, so if you don’t make it… they don’t have to transport your body far.

You haven't truly lived until you're scraping together wads and coins to get something to eat after an unexpected strenuous evening

Checkers must be the only place with lower hiring standards than Popeyes.

The Athens GA Checkers was a staple for me in college. They were always running some kind of ridiculous deal, 2 burgers for $3 etc. It wasn't good, but the comment above about scraping together change and getting a gut bomb was real. I lived it.

Their chili cheese dogs are better though.

Back in the day I bought some drugs at the table out from of this Rally’s, then I got hit by a truck running a red light at this intersection.
I refused medical attention because I was worried and eager to go do the drugs that was in my pocket. I had this crazy concussion that fricked my brain up for like 2 weeks. Or forever or whatever

there was a Taco Dios number two and right next door a checkers and you could get three tacos for $3 and two burgers for $3
And I'd use the taco sauce from the taco place and steal extra salsa so I could make the burgers taste even better
that's livin
