Heat/Blazers/Pels Trade

I had the idea that since those MIL swaps could be some of the best ammo for Giannis, and we won't be in those negotiations, and MIL may not trade soon or want Herro, that MIA could trade for them to use as good leverage whenever it should go down, or just sign him in FA and be invested in the demise. We'd be getting more 1sts over 2 with potential, including #20 this year. I had us taking on contracts i assume the Blazer won't want to resign, so theyre getting better with more solidified roles and saving 20mil for FA now, and giving us #11 for it essentially. They're also get to keep their own MIL swaps and still trade with MIA.We'd make 3 1st round selections this year and kick the tires on some veterans and see what all sticks.
Blazers: Tyler Herro, Dejounte Murray, Nikola Jovic, Kelly Olynyk, Duncan Robinson
Heat: 26 Pels 1st w/ MIL swap rights, 27 Pels 1st w/ MIL swap rights, CJ McCollum, Shaedon Sharpe, Jordan Hawkins, Elfrid Payton
Pelicans: Blazers #11, Heat #20, 29 MIA 1st, 31 MIA 1st, 26 MIA 2nd (MEM has swaps on it) Jerami Grant, Deandre Ayton, Anfernee Simons
Would yall do this? Would they?
(edit- it would be kinda ironic though if MIA did trade for Giannis after this and MIL was then invested in OUR demise haha)

That's a lot.
It's a lot going on. I wouldn't mind it. But we need a PG bad (even more after that deal), and I don't want Grant.
The final 4 left are all lead by elite guards. The league is gearing that direction. I think we should be focused on somehow getting #2 (Harper), or finding a great guard some other way..

Yeah i don't particularly want any of the blazers players we're getting here, unless it turns out i do, but its a long shot.
I like Pettiford out of Auburn we could nab him at 20.

There are a lot of upside guards in the 1st I wouldn't mind taking a shot. But it's not hard to gain a late 1st. I wouldn't put serious assets into it.

Why would the blazers do this
terrible trade

Its essentially #11, Shaedon Sharpe, and Anfernee Simons for Tyler Herro and 20 million cap space now and more in the future for the Blazers.

Blazers come out the best in this, with Heat second and Pels trailing way behind.
That’s not a good trade in the slightest for us.
1) We lose any depth
2) This pushes us into the 2nd apron with less than 12 players (you’re adding almost 15 million in salary)
3) The only one of those 3 players that has any value is Simons, and he’s not better than what we have on the team already.

#11/Simons/Trey/Zion/#7
#20/Herb/Grant/Karlo/Missi
Jose/Reeves/Ayton
isn't bad depth to me personally

So Portland's end is:
Sharpe, Grant, Simons, Ayton, #11 pick for Herro, Murray, Jovic, Olynyk, Robinson
That seems like a terrible trade for Portland. It gets out from Ayton's contract but takes on Murray's, so that's a wash. Jovic/Olynyk/Robinson just seem like filler. Herro is an upgrade on Simons, but nothing to get that excited about. Certainly not a big enough upgrade to warrant a first rounder and Sharpe.
And with the strides the Blazers made this season, don't think they would give away Sharpe anyhow.

Gets out from Ayton, Grant especially, and upgrades Simons, If DJM comes back they upgraded PG or they can flip him, and Jovic is pretty decent. Jovic, Olynyk and Duncan can provide spot minutes and occasional starts, its not too bad, their rotation makes more sense to me after this trade.
DJM/Herro/Avidjia/Camara/Clingan Scoot/Rupert/Walker/Jovic/RW3 Banton/DuncanR/Murray/Olynyk/Reath
Thybulle and Sidy get some minutes for defensive purposes

This is a shite trade and I woukdnt even entertain it.

Yeah let’s trade real assets (sharpe and #11) to get marginally… worse? Simons and Herro are a wash. What’s cap space going to do? So we can sign one of the mid FAs this year to a big deal?
THis trade absolutely sucks for Portland. We can ditch Ayton as an expiring next year and get back some protected picks taking back salary. The only thing this trade does it gets Portland off Grant. So we get cap space to go after another Grant.

Yeah this thread is fan fiction from somebody who hasn’t watched any Portland games and doesn’t understand contracts.

No one watches Portland games! Why would they do that? Jokes on you really. I don't even watch Pelicans games who are these people even? If youre watching both that certainly explains your misery. And if you've come here to gloat over the Blazers then that is the saddest thing ive heard in a long time, and i'd like to donate tree fiddy.

Just came here to tell you your trade is shitty
Posted on 5/20/25 at 8:49 pm to theducks
At least they’ve moved on from blowing up the Rockets by sending all their young talent to the Bucks and Pelicans for Giannis and CJ McCollum, who would team with Amen Thompson and a dozen G-leaguers. .
Posted on 5/20/25 at 8:56 pm to theducks
So who's the worst team in the west next year, us, or you? Probably you, and if you really think about it thats pretty sad. Worse than US?! And after all the stupid ish you've seen the Pelicans do first-hand too. Shame because you guys are really doing things the right way too, idk why everyone is so sure that that is exactly what is going to happen. Ah who cares anyway. I think we should blindly defend our turds and probably best not to attempt to polish them either. This is fun!

NOSHAU I guess i gotta give you a pass technically because theres no green font, but im concerned about you and i sincerely hope you are not that thick. Why are you taking another mans bait? He's an obvious troll too and not even a pels fan. Im going to kill him later and i expect you to help now to make up for that, and i do NOT mean help chortle his balls anymore than you already have, just hold him down or something sheesh.
