Are there ane Republican candidates to support to primary Bill Cassidy. Because if we split our vote. There is a chance a Democrat could win. I refuse to vote for Cassidy.

Lots of rumors of Letlow but I don't think she has addressed it. Maybe one of those no-comment is a comment scenarios?

My prediction here…

Louisiana shifts to closed primaries next cycle.

Cassidy wins the Republican primary, but cannot win the general election because of the dirt being slung between republican candidates.

Also, Trump is not on the ballot making it a harder election to get people motivated to vote which will help a consensus pick for the Democrats like JBE.

After JBE'S second term I don't know that he can fit back into his sheep costume. Is there another viable Dem slipping my mind?

People here seem to favor Fleming. Here’s an article from when he announced his candidacy:

I would run against Cassidy but I don’t have a big enough name. Too bad.

Neither have enough of statewide name recognition to overcome an incumbent.

I know Fleming is the treasurer, but he comes off as dry popcicle man.

It is not like other Treasurer candidates that ascended to the office that had a little name recognition like Landrieu and Kennedy.

JBE has a (broken record here) a Ronald Greene problem. The two most prominent pols who opposed the new closed primary system were Bill Cassidy and John Bel Edwards and for good reason.

He’d be a good one, but I doubt he’s going to subject himself to the pig sty of Washington DC.

He would have made a hell of a better Governor than Huey P Landry, but Louisiana voters gonna Louisiana vote.

Fleming is in but he’s a rich nobody that will probably buy his way to the runoff. After reading his lastest opinion, he sounds a little paranoid.

Miguez will likely be in after the session. He’s probably best for the state and is a marksman. If enough money gets behind him, he could pull it off.

Letlow isn’t in and I don’t see her jumping in. There’s another douche bag on the public service commission that thinks he’s got a shot but he’s got zero chance.

There’s always the chance Graves might jump in the race.

My ranking of likely candidate is the following:

1) Miguez
2) Sheriff from mid size parish
3) former lake Charles mayor
4) Fleming
