Does this company employ the shitty people who act as "ushers" wearing those maroon blazers in the arena too? They're the absolute worst part of the Pelicans gameday experience.

The amount of people on these boards that think the team controls the food vendor is amazing.

It’s state ran since the stadiums are owned by the state, the team does not pay the food vendor nor do they set the prices.

Who got the best kickbacks. I hear Landry is a steak guy

Now who gets the money from those concessions and parking? Hear is a hint ..,, It’s not necessary the state. Think about it.

Where do you think the state funds most of the renovations and everything else to the stadiums from? It comes from the revenue brought in by the stadiums (parking and concessions) and the local hotel/motel tax.

WRONG!

GAYLE Benson/ State squabble over renovations

Secondly I guarantee Gayle Benson is setting those beer prices. If it were the state collecting the Pelicans would be playing in a new arena? Right? So when you getting your new arena. SKC renovations?

You do know a tax rebate is not the state “giving” a team money right? It’s a tax deduction that lowers the teams tax bill by that amount at the end of the year, the state doesn’t pay them, the team still pays taxes to the state.

Also to add on to this, the concession money goes to a different fund within the state called the LSED (Louisiana Stadium & Exposition District), they’re the ones that handle the stadiums and decide on renovations/rebuild, not Gayle.

Every team runs promotions like this to encourage people to buy season tickets. The state is not giving that gift card to the fans, the team is and the money comes out of the ticket prices.

LOL You think the Knicks need to run that promotion? What about Boston? Think they are desperate for STH’s that they need promotions?

Gayle don’t pay anything to state . She collects. Otherwise team would have BEEN SOLD time ago.

Do you feel you have gotten your moneys worth at $400 million? And that is just the Saints.

New Orleans Saints to make nearly $400M in state subsidies by 2025

Yes, they offer 20% off all concessions to STH LINK

What about Boston?

Yes they do promotions for STH and waiting list holders

Wrong, the teams have to pay taxes based on profits.

Considering a single superbowl pumps 500 million to 1 billion dollars into the local/state economy, yes we have and much much more, this is not even including what the players have to pay in taxes. For instance just Zion’s yearly pay equates to 1.4 million in state income tax he pays every year.

You also have to look at the terms of the “subsidy”, most of it came from the state renting office space in buildings Tom owned. The Bensons also put up 300 million to renovate the Superdome (something they didn’t have to do), so in actuality, the state is still making millions off the lease, and they gave less than 100 million in subsidies or tax breaks

We have no choice, the Pels would be long gone without state subsidies. It’s not sustainable but that’s the cost of a market outside the top 50 with a utility alone as a Fortune 500 company.

The returns for Louisiana have been horrible as the team isn’t competitive and nobody wants to play here.

Note the Giannis thread there isn’t one suggestion on how to get him here, were the 3rd wheel.

Bingo. You pay me or I’m out.

On that note how is STH sales huge Pelicans? All sold out? Ready for a waiting list?
