My family and I are rewatching all the Mission Impossible movies before the new one comes out. To me it’s a pretty big plot hole that while those masks exist in this world, no one ever suspects them. They are fooled by the masks over and over again.

Your concern is duly noted.

Now, kindly go turn in your man card for caring about this.

Anyone who says they knew *that* character was Ethan Hunt in a mask is full of shite.

In that first film his disguise was laughable.

IMF- Impossible mission force. The masks exist in their world but not the "normal" world

These masks are real, have been around a while, and work. There are videos out there of a CIA operative testing one out on George H.W. Bush. The operative gave him a briefing in the oval office while wearing a mask. Bush had no idea that this was a person that he knew very well.

Yeah but looking like someone different is much easier to do than looking like a specific person.

Very true, but the example I gave was from 30 plus years ago. I'm sure that has advanced a lot in the years since.

He can be strange at times with scientology and jumping on couches, but he has to still be one of the hardest working actors in Hollywood today including how he promotes his own films.

He also knows to stay on point and recently avoided addressing a question from an audience about the effects of Trump’s tariffs on movies by just telling the moderator they want to focus on the movie.

It was a quite few years back that this guy used a mask of an old guy and was able to get on a flight and no one noticed. The mask was able to be purchased on line. Only reason he got caught was he passed out and then people noticed.
