If you get a chance, and have apple TV+, check it out. Hard to believe this past Sunday was 13 years since MCA passed.

RIP MCA

Yeah it’s on my watch list. The 1971 year in music is good there too. Bridges the 60’s and 70’s. Was a big year for music.

It was really well done. Now I need to read the book.

It is a good show. Saw them open for RUN DMC in 80's. Epic!

I liked it a lot, but wish they would have continued on a bit further. I think they really only covered up to Hello Nasty era and didn't talk about much after that. Would have loved to hear them go all the way through their last album, but maybe MCA wasn't doing well then and it would have been too difficult for them to get through talking about it.

Same.

1987. Houston. The Summit.

I had floor seats. By the end of the show, I was dead center front row.

I agree. It was epic. Great show.

It still amazes me three white teenagers in the same city can switch from being a shitty hardcore punk band to a legit hip hop group in just a few years and then continued to get better. It’s very Beatles-ish. To be honest Licensed to Ill was my least favorite album and it sounds like theirs too. It is a great documentary.

Saw that lollapalooza in NO and I’ll never forget it. We were right in front of stage seconds before Beasties came out. The music started and a mad amount of people rushed forward and my friends and I somehow ended up like 200 yds away. The bass for that set rattled my internal organs. Oh and they forgot lyrics to a few License to Ill songs but it was hilarious

I saw them at 2004 Voodoo Fest. Very similar to you, I was a ways back but by the time they got up, I was just a few people deep from the middle walk out platform. It was such a damn fun set.

The lineup that year was great and included The Killers and Velvet Revolver. I finished the day with Pixies, Green Day, and Beastie Boys all at the same stage.
