I am going to the Sevilla FC match against Real Madrid on May 18 at Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan in Seville. It will be my first time in Seville and my first La Liga match. Anyone ever been to a match there before? Looking for any tips or anything else I might need to know about going to a match there. Thanks in advance.

Its in the Nervion area of the city, which is relatively new and lacks a lot of the charm of the older section. The fans of the team are extremely upset with management and the home games have been different this season with a lot of chants directed at the owners boxes and demanding they resign. Team is fighting to stave off relegation. Still, games are usually packed. Take a bus or the subway to the match to avoid traffic issues. Lots of decent local bars nearby to grab a beer before or after.

We walked from downtown. Easy and nice walk. There's not a ton around the stadium. A few bars, but that's about it. We ate late lunch (by Spanish standards) and had drinks on the way over. You'll have a great time. Definitely a highlight of our trip.

Not there but I went to a La Liga match in Vitoria-Gasteiz about a month before COVID lockdowns at Deportivo Alaves. Very cool experience and a short walk from our downtown hotel. The fact that it was a derby match against Eibar from 40 km up the road made it even better.

They generally speaking don’t sell beer or booze in games, just an fyi. Not that that’s a requirement for me by any means.

Just wanted to jump in again and forewarn that things are getting bad with the Seville team and its fans. After the loss on Saturday at an away match, the team returned to its training quarters where a mob awaited them. So, my guess is that there will be increased security at all home games going forward. A link to a newspaper article about the mob incident:
