Shortest: less than 10 hrs in 1503 Julius II was elected

Longest: 1,006 days in 1268. Gregory X won and issued a papal bull creating the conclave.

Oldest pope: Leo XIII elected in 1878, died 25 yrs later at 93 yrs old

Oldest pope elected: Celestine III in 1191 and Celestine V in 1294 were both 84 when elected pope.

Youngest pope elected: this is tricky but Leo X was 37 when elected in 1513. John XII was 18 but I'm not sure if he was elected or installed by his father.

Last pope that was not a cardinal: Urban VI in 1398

Damn. 84 in 1191 and 1294 years at that. That's like 300 years old today.

I am honestly dubious of those ages.

Who are you placing bets on? Personally, I’m rooting for a younger pontiff than the last two installments. Benedict and Francis were both in their late 70s when installed and predictably were incapable of doing the job within just a couple of years. I think 65-70 years old would be a sweet spot.

Would be nice if they outsourced the Pope for a change

I just hope the new pope gives himself a non-traditional name.
