The umpires behind home plate have been wildly inconsistent all weekend.

Watched all of game 2 and then all of today. Then went back and watched clips of game 1.
What’s troubling is not missed pitches. But it’s the timing. I’m all for the minor league rules being introduced in D1 baseball. If a pitch is missed then a manager should be able to challenge.

It’s every weekend. Do you think this one is or would be any different?

Good example with the homer from Kent. You miss the call and then ends up in advantage count situations

Stop the bull shite it would have freaking mattered anyway. He threw a meatball down and in to a lefty. Missed his spot by 2’

All year. It’s mind boggling.

Every single time LSU is in a tight game dozens cry about the umps. The only other whining that consistent is crying about the announcers on SECN+

Let me see if I have this right. Ump is three feet behind home plate with a straight on view, Your watching from a camera angle that is 30 degree from being a straight line between pitcher and home plate. U can't see home plate or only a small portion of it on most pitches.
You should petition the SEC office to allow u to can call balls/strikes from your lounge chair.
A little secret, in non 0-2 counts often the catchers glove is positioned of off the plate.

Which make the hitting more difficult and makes for lack of confidence at the plate.Pitching suffers also because if they don’t get the corner calls it plays with their minds and certainly affects swag on the mound. These umps were horrible for both teams and caused the low scoring.

Agreed. The hotdog fingered, belt overlapping bellied, intoxicated La-Z-boy riding LSU fans always know better than the umps. Just ask them every single time LSU is in a close game.

It is funny that the coaches are complaining also and they have a worse angle than the fan on his couch.

The home plate umpire for the Sunday game was David Savage. He was also the first base umpire when Jay got tossed against Texas for arguing his check swing call.
David Savage has been involved in 50% of the coach ejections in conference games.
3/6 coaches ejected in SEC play were in games he umpired. Including two series where the coach opposing Vanderbilt was tossed.
So he's seemingly made it personal against Jay Johnson and for Tim Corbin.
