2022 - Dusty Baker gets his 2,000th career managerial win in a 4-0 whitewash of Seattle. Baker becomes the 12th manager and first African-American to reach that plateau. Cristian Javier and three relievers complete the four-hitter while Yordan Alvarez and Jose Altuve support them with home runs.

We actually lost to the mother fricking White Sox last night cuz why not.
If they can't beat them today with Hunter Brown just quit the season. I expect a 1-0 loss.

Last two games we've gone 4-23 with RISP and stranded 20 runners on base.
Looking through statcast at some of the bad that stands out for our offense...
We're tied with the White Sox for fewest extra base hits this season
2nd lowest exit velo
Lowest percentage of pitches in strikezone
6th highest chase percentage
2nd highest 1st pitch swing percentage
5th highest ground ball percentage
3rd highest pulled ball percentage
3rd lowest opposite field hit percentage
So if we put all that together what picture does it paint of our offense? A nearly RH exclusive lineup with a ton of aggressive early swinging pull hitters are being pitched out of the zone, likely on the other side of the plate. They go after those pitches a lot but they never send them oppo so we get off balance swings across the plate with guys trying to pull the ball resulting in low velo ground balls and no power/XBH.

Ahhh the annual wrist injury.
Posted on 5/3/25 at 12:31 pm to Lsuhoohoo
Hopefully they just put him on the IL and let it heal if that’s been the problem. Usually I’m terrified when this injury pops up with him but he’s been a zero all year, let him get right and hopefully he’s the old Yordan when he comes back

I think Peña has solidified himself as the leadoff guy for the remainder of the season

Miserable fricking sack of shite offense
Posted on 5/3/25 at 1:17 pm to DalenSA
And Walker has solidified that he is Jose Abreu 2.0. frick this guy
Posted on 5/3/25 at 1:19 pm to DalenSA
First 2 get on, Isaac gets ahead 2-0 and then hits into a double play before Abreu strikes out.
It is as it ever was and shall be.

Of course the worst team in the AL, White Sox are going to easily dominate the Astros.
Stomped em the hell out last night 7-3, and already got their foot on their neck again today. Pitiful.

lol they put the ball in play and grinded Hunter to 30 pitches
I’m sure Martin will counter with a 12 pitch inning with a punch and two bullshite weak ground balls here
Jake
