I guess most people are over LIV now or didn't really care to begin with.

I still dislike them.. and will probably always dislike them. Sue me. I don't care..

On season 2 of Full Swing on Netflix, and of course it's dealing with the height of the LIV takeover.

Somebody on the documentary said imagine if LIV was backed by Apple or Google. I guess that's asking how it would've went if "clean" money would've been used to entice golfers to switch over.

That's an interesting thought.

Nah. I personally don't get mad at people for making smart financial decisions for them and their family or accepting pay raises from other employers.

Why would you dislike LIV golfers? Because the media told you to?

None of them are as douchey as Justin Thomas.

If Jay Monahan had not completely dismissed the threat of LIV he could have prevented this, but he had too much ego and thought he would laugh Phil Mickelson's concerns off. How that guy still has a job I'll never understand. If Rory had any balls he would have staged a coup after the way Jay used him.

I'm thinking about accepting a upper level position with the cartel. Life changing money.

I get you. You're so right and come at it so simple minded on purpose. We should all be that way.

I believe they accepted large sums of money from a terrorist adjacent group that funds terrorist activities.

I didn't learn that watching the golf channel.

You're right about Monahan. That dude snaked his way through the whole thing. And Rory said he is closer to Monahan than any other golfer. Said they have a super close relationship. And Monahan kicks Rory in the nuts at the end of it all..

If you're good with it, you're good with it. I don't care about convincing you of anything. It's your brain, not mine.

You can’t figure out how a guy that got 1.5 billion invested into the tour and made members richer, fended off a 100 billion dollar competitor, and has ratings high as ever still has a job?

You are the one that’s a media pawn. Look at Kopeka, a guy that left for LIV. He is still extremely close friends with Jay. It’s obvious he actually is very good at his job and respected

Yeah, but he did apparently screw over the PGA golfers right? Made this deal without any player input. And the tour is a player organization correct?

What I'm saying is he may have bargained a good deal, but no player had a voice. After 12 months of player involvement, then to be shut out. That would piss me off a little yeah.

The PGA Tour got an injection of $1.5B? What will that be used for? Has the tour discussed that?

I really stopped keeping up with the whole LIV/PGA thing. I stopped watching golf about the time this happened. Hurt my back, so I stopped playing.. lost interest in watching and keeping up.

Playing again now. Diving back into the golf world and doings.

quote:

The private equity investment in the PGA Tour, facilitated by Strategic Sports Group (SSG), involves a $3 billion investment, with $1.5 billion initially and the possibility of an additional $1.5 billion later. This investment is channeled into the new for-profit entity, PGA Tour Enterprises, where players will receive equity grants based on factors like performance, participation, and tour status
Total screwjob

That really didn't give many details. How much does each PGA golfer get? Will they get paid a large one-time bonus check of $50M or something like LIV players got?

Getting paid based on performance, participation, and tour status really just sounds like the PGA prior to LIV. What changed? Are the purses a lot larger for players or something?

I haven't got to this part on the documentary yet..

But it was money "from a terrorist adjacent group that funds terrorist activities". Brandel Chamblee, Eamon Lynch, Fred Couples, and I Am Dan are appalled by that dirty money. Do you even 9/11 Families, bro?

This is what Rory said. The PGA spent a year galvanizing against LIV and then just decided to join them.

Is it dirty money or not? What do you think? Does dirty money matter to you?

The Saudi Public Investment Fund has been linked to some unfortunate incidents.

I thought this was the deal with the PIF.

I stand corrected.

My bad.

Who funds the Saudi PIF?? Hmm. Yeah, the Saudi govt.

quote:

The Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) receives funding from four primary sources: capital injections from the Saudi government, government assets transferred to the PIF, loans and debt instruments, and retained earnings from its investments.

Where the money comes from is the big argument right?
