Looking for information on taking the Queen Mary 2 from NYC to Southhampton

I’ve done an eastbound transatlantic on Seabourn, not Cunard, and the biggest thing to me was you lose almost an hour a day on an eastbound crossing with the time difference. I think Cunard does it in the middle of the day to not disturb your amount of nightly rest. I did it this time last year and the weather was nice, not too hot and not cold.

We crossed from Miami to the Canary Islands and it was rough, the extreme northern Atlantic is supposed to be even rougher seas. The QM2 is an ocean liner and not a cruise ship so it is built for that but I’d still take some motion sickness meds.

The QM2 crossing seems very popular as that is almost all that ship does. So they must be doing something right.

I’ve looked at doing a crossing on that ship and from my research I wouldn’t book anything less than a Princess grills level cabin. Cunard claims they don’t have different classes on board but they do. Grills level passengers have private facilities that Britannia passengers don’t have access to.

Doing research on a daily basis right now...what I'm concerned about are the additional fees....the wife and I aren't big drinkers so I'm not worried about that, but everything else like the hotel fees and internet fees.

UPDATE - a friend of one of my neighbors will be making the Transatlantic crossing next week. I'll be talking to her when she gets back to get some first-hand expertise.
