New York - Fashion Week

My daughter was invited to walk for fashion week in New York. It will be held in Sony Hall, we are staying at Marriott Times Square.
Looking for "hole in the wall" food places, even if out the way.
Any lesser known must see must do things? We typically enjoy the off the path type things with a story or history to them. Thanks!

My favorite restaurant is Virginia’s in the east village. Small cozy and good food. Sort of uptown New Orleans brunch vibe. My sister used to live in a building adjacent to it. She works in the fashion industry and its a pretty popular little spot amongst her and her friends.

My daughter lives in NY and one of her favorite restaurants is 19 Cleveland, an Israeli / Mediterranean restaurant near Soho.
When we visited her last summer, we walked around Little Island and also toured the Tenement Museum. I’d recommend both.
I’d love to know how your daughter was invited for Fashion Week - that’s so cool!

Make sure wherever you eat, you're outside, so you can take in the sights. One of my former retail clients had a near endless stream of 5'10"+ ladies visiting for "fittings" at the design part of the HQ. And that wasn't even fashion week.

She started doing Pageants late last year and got quite a bit of attention. A popular designer of pageant dresses saw her and invited her, she told another designer about her who then asked her to walk for him as well.
Added it to my list!
