This LSU baseball team has a better record than the 2023 National Champs

at this point in the season.
This years team SEC record is 10-5
2023 National Championship team SEC record was 9-5 (cancelled game against South Carolina)
Its been done differently though. 2023 team had not lost a series. This years team have lost two series but have swept the series they have won. (3-2 in series)
Not sure what it all means but just food for thought.

A little different though because the 5 series LSU played in 2023 finished 20-10, 16-14, 17-13, 16-13, and 16-14. That team's schedule was very frontloaded, which was weird that they struggled in May, losing to Georgia and Miss State.
Mizzou already has more losses than any of those teams.
LSU opponents so a far are 13-2, 7-8, 5-10, 0-15, and 9-6.
The two seasons are kind of flip-flopped when it comes to front-end and back-end schedule strength.

looking into the future ruins the exercise. I do agree though that I think the 2023 team had a tougher schedule to start off with. But its close because a lot of the tough series were at home for the 2023 team.

But yet the 2023 team was better

We dont know that yet considering the season is only halfway over. It probably will not be because Jay said that team is the GOAT team but that doesnt mean this team cant win a championship considering they are on the same pace.

They didn’t lose to Georgia. They won 2/3. They lost to Auburn 2/3 & MS State 2/3.

2023 had an automatic W every Friday night though. It was the next two games that were suspect. And middle relief was terrible. No lead was safe. And like a switch, at the end, pitching turned the corner and the rest is history. How soon we forget Thacher Hurd would have been banished to the bench had we listened to the rant.

Having a better record this year than that year means nothing without a NC

2023 squad had a killer instinct that would be the envy of any group....this team hasn't revealed such as of yet

Whatever they better start hitting or they going to lose a lot more series

We don't have Skenes/Crews nor the bombs the 23 line up hit or the Sr. leadership in Dugas/Beloso. We had White come in with all the national buzz surrounding him and he wanted to prove it. We don't have these X factors like we had in 23.
Ill take a more battle tested record plus those guys in 23 all day.

They lost to Auburn, not UGA. They beat UGA 2/3 their last series of the season

It means you're likely a relatively level headed person that does not jump to irrational conclusions every time LSU loses a baseball game or series. Cuddos my man!

Beloso (sp?) and Dugas were HUGE at the end of the season and in the ’23 CWS.
Pitching needs to get right and limit freebies. We will need a “supporting player(s)” like Brown or Fry or ________ to get hot and stay hot when we need it.

Again to expand on what your saying. One of many examples of players on the 23 team contributing to big wins in one way or another, i remember losing to Carolina in game 2 , 7-4. Dugas comes up and bases were juiced and he quietly hits a grand slam and shoves it right up the gamecocks arses. We win 8-7. Jmo, we don't soldiers on the 25 team like this. Downvote away but we play like pussy cats not Tigers when we losing. That right there is a microcosm of why 25 is nothing close to the 23 team.
