This is not a forward-thinking move.

I’d want to be on the cutting edge. Starting fresh with smart, hungry, up-and-coming talent in the front office and on the sideline.

Hiring someone like Dumars is a backwards, lazy move. Where’s the vision? There is an opportunity to create something new and exciting and turn the franchise around with a bold vision, and I have zero confidence in this organization to make that happen.

I’m frustrated with this organization and I’m not even a Pelicans fan.

The Widow is not capable of it. Period.

Dumars has behind the scenes cultivated relationships with the Bensons and Lauscha for more than a decade. He has repeatedly behind the scenes tried to get this job.

He is from New Orleans and they know him so he gets the job. No process.

I'm just letting people spin out and get over the hysteria. Everything that has happened is good so far.

1. Griffin is gone.

2. Green is on the threshold of being gone. The Suns interest is real. Maybe we get a pick out of it, and we don't have to buy him out.

3. Zion is getting put on the market. I'm super excited to move on from all of that.

4. Dumars getting hired as president doesn't matter that much to me. He'll have to find a new GM and let that guy pick the coach. For some reason people think he's going to be Griffin and make personnel moves. He goes to run the team, and with those ties try to secure a new stadium, lock in a media deal, etc.. he's a businessman now, with good contacts..

The rest is ongoing. I have a good feeling so far..

BTW, I'm glad to see you on the board. We need more opposing fans posting, even if we don't agree..

Clearly you are not familiar with Dumars' past.

Why do you think Dumars would leave his NBA league gig and not want control of personnel?

Dumars has no connections to Louisiana politics. He is not coming in and getting a stadium deal done, nor is he bringing in a media deal. He is not being hired on the business side, he would be President of BASKETBALL OPERATIONS.

lol at thinking Dumars would not oversee the basketball operations if he were hired. Not to mention the GM that was mentioned would he hired by…Dumars
