To do that at current rates it would bankrupt the country when the 1st few interest payments were due. Interest rates had to fall.

Easy fella, you don’t know me. fricking up supply chains globally, ostracizing western allies and driving them into their own trade deals (USD negative) all to issue/roll some treasury debt? I’d say the cost isn’t worth it.
