Thoughts on Death of a Unicorn

It’s a fun little monster movie. It’s worth a lazy afternoon watch.
I really liked the unicorns. I thought they were intimidating. I definitely felt velociraptor from Jurassic Park vibes. They definitely are vicious and earn the the movie the R rating.
The rest of the movie is harmlessly unambitious. There is a fair amount of comedy and a lot of it works pretty well.
Honestly my biggest issue of the movie is the movie doesn’t know how to use Paul Rudd for most of it. Most of the movie he is in uncharming and cowardly which made it a bit annoying when he’s on screen. His character really really really sucks. He turns the charm up a lot at a certain point but for most of the movie, I though the was a bit of a buzzkill

I have to admit that it’s the most original movie I’ve seen out of Hollywood in a while. I enjoyed it but I’m a sucker for these type of gimmick B movies.

Some of the CGI isn't that great, but the unicorns are dope. I thought it was cool how all of the deaths mirrored those in the tapestry.

Yeah, the CGI isn’t great but I still loved the unicorns. I’ll watch it again just to see those bad arse mother frickers

I wouldn’t recommend that anyone spend money to watch this movie. Knew it had bad reviews and was hoping for something but it provided nothing.

It did not have bad reviews. It had average reviews. 50 % with critics and more audiences liked it on RT. It’s a 6.5 on IMDB. That’s average. Which is what this movie is

Probably fair
There's some dark humor with the magnate family being total pieces of shite. I wasn't wow about the unicorn cgi but going in with low expectations saved me from being disappointed
