Jones is fouling many off to the right side or hitting it out. It looks like the angle of his bat is down on the end causing it . More fouls than fair. Any experts in hitting got an explanation ?

you can foul off an infinite number of pitches and can only get a hit 1 time per AB.
also getting a hit is hard and he’s still doing that 4/10 AB

He’s keeping his bat in the zone longer and hitting balls where they’re pitched. The don’t want to to extend his arms so they’re trying to jam him inside so he’s pulling his hands in to drive the ball oppo. Crews and White did the same thing all the time. No one is going to throw him fastballs over the plate on purpose

I wasn’t downing his hitting he is the triple crown leader on the team. It just seems to me it’s surprising he doesn’t have a flatter swing through the zone. Maybe he would be hitting .500
