According to fangraphs, with a minimum innings pitched of 20 innings,
Casan Evans leads all of college baseball in FIP (1.61), followed by Cowan (1.69) then Eyanson (1.85)
Fangraphs
Cowan is also second in the country in K-BB% behind Tennessee’s Liam Doyle. While Anderson (10), Evans (11) and Eyanson (17) all come in the top 20.
LSU has 4 elite arms headlining the staff

For the boomers of tRant
quote:
In baseball, Fielding Independent Pitching (FIP) is a sabermetric statistic that measures a pitcher's effectiveness based on statistics that are independent of the defense, aiming to provide a clearer picture of a pitcher's true ability.
quote:
Why it's useful:
FIP is considered a more objective measure of pitching performance than ERA, as it removes the influence of luck or the defense's performance.
FIP vs. ERA:
While ERA (Earned Run Average) is a traditional measure of pitching performance, it can be influenced by fielding errors, bad luck, or a team's defensive capabilities. FIP aims to isolate the pitcher's ability to control the outcomes of pitches.

Oh great another dumb acronim some dorks came up with to make modern baseball even more confusing. How about we just watch the game and enjoy letting the players play instead of coming up with some dumb useless stat for everything! Whats next? Stats for how great each player spits out there sunflower seeds! Give me a break!

And there are people who think eyanson shouldnt be a starter

Fangraphs must be using a different constant than d1. Because the numbers dont match. And colton book is #1 in FIP on there. And eyanson is the only lsu player in the top 20.

You do realize this is how every baseball department operates from the college level through the professional ranks, right?

You do realize stats are not hitting running or catching right? At every level.

Just because you are too stupid to understand something doesn't make it useless.
