When did this begin? We have events being canceled now before a drop of rain even hits the ground. Freret Fest was cancelled today and it has been a beautiful day here in NOLA. Will it rain this afternoon, who knows. Why has this practice started? We give local meteorologists like that douchebag Zack Fradella too much power with these future forecast.

Since weather events have gotten far worse and more frequent because of global warming.

New Orleans is just trying to lower their crime rate by doing things to keep people from going outside and becoming inevitable victims of people who make New Orleans great.

You do understand the meteorologists aren’t the ones making the decision to cancel anything. They’re simply giving the information and those in charge are dramatic little pussies who are quick to cancel instead of waiting and seeing.

It’s significantly more common than it used to be. It seems like we cancel an event once a month now because of the threat of bad weather. Not saying it isn’t justified, but seems like we just used to deal with weather a lot more.

You'll get downvoted by the weather guys on this board. Why they knight for these doomsday 'meteorologists' on TV I'll never know. The last month should have proven something. Mardi Gras and St. Patrick's Day were cancelled b/c the entirety of LA was going to die in a once in a lifetime tornado, then it was winds never seen before, the day before yesterday it was 7 inches of rain. These guys can't even tell you if it is going to rain in an hour. I'll get downvoted too, and the replies will come with do you want to have no notice for hurricanes etc..., The weather clowns feel their power like the covidians. Once they obtain the power to control they won't give it up. You'll never hear them talk about their misses, they'll just move onto the next hysterical weather event coming up next.

Can you post some specific examples of this “doom casting” that didn’t come true?

Like a quote from the meteorologist and then the actual weather from that time period

Because it sounds like you’re just talking directly out of your arse
