Question on blackstones

I’m looking at some different blackstones and was gonna get yalls opinion. The 2 burner with the hood is about the same as the 4 burner with just the hard cover. Is having a hood worth the price of 2 additional burners?

I have both and the hood is definitely a huge convenience over the metal cover. I guess it boils down ro how much you cook at once and if you need the space.

Retractable hood all day every day.

Give me the burners all day. The hard cover aint that hard just to lean up next to the stone while you're cooking

Have the hard cover and 4 burners. The cover has hooks on the underside to hang it off the back wall so it's not on the ground. It's very easy and not in the way. The 4 burners are nice to have but you're not going to get much of a temp difference between burners 1&2, or 2&3, etc. You'll get a big temp difference between burners further apart from each other like 1&3 or 1&4. Kinda obvious.
That said, I have a friend who has the hood (w/4 burners). The hood is a nice upgrade from the cover to be able to close the lid while cooking. Don't think I'd give up 2 burners for it though.

I’ve got an OG 36” 4 burner. Not once have I wished I had a hood or fewer burners LOL
a silicone griddle mat is all you need

I have the 4 burner with the cover and would trade it for a smaller one solely to have the hood

Every Blackstone I've looked at they recommend not using the hood while cooking. I don't know why. I have the 4-burner with the hard cover and love it. I always recommend having as much cooking space as you can get/afford, because at some point you will wish you had the extra space.
