True or False - Are the 16 teams remaining in the tournament the top 16 “highest paid” rosters? Are they all top 20?

Auburn
Duke
Florida
Houston
Tennessee
Alabama
Michigan State
Texas Tech
Arkansas
Maryland
Michigan
BYU
Arizona
Kentucky
Purdue
Ole Miss

Outliers:
Arkansas beat Kansas & St John’s (both had high paid rosters)
UConn
Gonzaga
UNC

The other highest paid teams that might be in the top 16, but already eliminated.

St. John’s was reported to have one of the highest paid rosters, but so does Arkansas

Get used to the same teams every year in every sport.

It's all about $$$.

Other teams can always decide to pay more, plus the NIL revenue sharing will be a new curveball.

While the biggest schools will have the full 20.5M to split among their different sports, there will be some schools that give more to basketball. The unknown is how NIL collectives will still operate on top of rev share

Well they really can't. Not all of them.

Small program coaches up a player, then trial lawyer who loves a big program buys said player away.

I am guessing Kansas is in top 2-3 and Gonzaga would be up there

You’re assuming NIL will continue to operate the way it currently has. I don’t think that is true, but they will always find a way to bend the rules to pay the players

I’m not sure Ole Miss is top 20 in basketball NIL, but they could be.

Hopefully the new revenue sharing plan comes with multi-year player contracts to curb those kinds of transfers.

Maybe but basketball is so big up north. Indiana, Marquette, Louisville and UNC have to be top 16 also

Rutgers signing two top 3 draft picks probably wasn't cheap

I don't understand where this money comes from.

I love my school, but if Louisiana Tech came to me tomorrow and said "If you give us $1,000 we will win a conference championship. If you don't we won't win a game next year."

My response would be "Tough shite fellas. Start looking for the moral victories now."

I cannot fathom handing money that could go to countless other places, and handing it to an 18 year old, who is likely a shite head, to play a game

Will only happen if the SEC and Big 10 programs push for it to protect themselves from inner-conference raids. But if they want to be able to pilfer the G5/mid-majors, then they won't support anything like that.
