Two things.

1. Cowan was warm and ready in a 4-2 game. Anderson's day was done. He was coming in in the bottom of the 7th regardless.

2. If Cowan doesn't pitch last night, do the pitchers who just gave up 4 runs in an inning magically shut UT down last night? In this perfect scenario, where do the outs come from?

How would you have mapped it?

Up 8-2 I take my chances with whoever last nite. If the lead shrinks then it’s Cowan and Evans time

Legit question, at what run lead would you have not pitched Cowan last night? If LSU was up 11-2 would you have still brought him in?
