Heading down to grand isle this weekend. Never fished there in March. Are all the trout still going to be in the marsh?

That's where I'd start.

There’s a bunch of us going. Was hoping to be able to night fish off the dock some too, but I was skeptical.

Have heard very few good reports from down there. Weather released and this is always tough time to catch trout. Bring some fresh shrimp fish deep turns in natural bayous if it’s blowing badly. Plenty of reds and drum still deep. Good luck

Yes the fish are still in the marsh. Trout will start moving out as early as late April and May.

I’m sure you can still catch something off the dock but I wouldn’t expect much.

I believe some of the big trout don't go into the marsh. They stay in the passes. Vidrine fishing those passes later in the year and earlier the next calendar year than most.

Stayed whole Mardi Gras week in Grand Isle. Wind and the fish kill from Snowmageddon really put the hurt on fishing. Managed a mixed box of 34 one day, the other days were pretty tough. Surprisingly the flounder were biting just off the rocks in the pass.
