Surround Sound Receiver Issues

Have a sony surround sound receiver connected to the television via HDMI.
The sound just suddenly stopped working. I’ve messed with the configurations, reset the receiver, and even changed the hdmi cables, still no sound.
Any ideas?

Is it a multi channel and got changed?
That happened to me one and it took me longer than I’d like to admit to figure it out.

I have had an HDMI port crap out. Check that out before panicking.
