Conference and OOC play are 2 totally different animals.

Playing the worst by far SEC team at home to start SEC play should give us the opportunity to play from the front this year. We started sec play 3-12 last year so 13-17 wasn’t a bad finish

ETA We ended up in the SECCG and had a really good shot to make it to Omaha up until the final inning we played last season

In 2023 we started 17-1 before going 19-10 in conference play and ultimately winning the CWS.

If you're a good team, the SEC season isn't over until it's over. It doesn't matter if you start 6-0 or 0-6. The opportunities for wins and losses are everywhere. You'd rather start 3-0 sure, but that doesn't amount to anything until all of the games are done on the final weekend.

Good perspective. A lot of SEC teams feeling really good about themselves right now.

Bloody mouths are coming.

Those people are idiots, but there were times last season when nothing that team did went well.

All that matters is how well you match up in SEC play

We have better quality depth in our pitching staff and will score more runs.

Defense could cost us some games, but not enough to significantly affect us getting a shot at championships. Could cost us a championship, but the rest of the parts are too good not to at least get to Supers

The early SEC slate last year was brutal. It’s never easy, but this schedule looks better for getting out to a good start.

In 2023, we were 10 run ruling a lot of teams. You could see how dominant players like Skenes, Crews, Morgan, and White were.

Last year we weren’t run ruling hardly anyone. We weren’t blowing weak teans away. No one was really comfortable with our starting pitching and it was completely up for grabs still going into the SEC schedule. You could see some talent on the team, but White was pretty much the only “sure thing”.

This year, our starting pitching is completely in place and doing well going into the SEC schedule. We have several really good arms in the pen. We have several Dudes on this team that can hit consistently. We have run ruled our fair shair of teams and look pretty dominant against bad teams.

Would you rather start 2-17?

The pitching situation isn’t even close to last year. We were depending on a couple of guys who had a great run in Omaha, but hadn’t ever been consistent before. And surprise- they weren’t consistent last season.

Shut up.

I’d say defense would be one of the main reasons LSU does win a championship. Unless you are mainly talking about catcher because this is one of the best outfields LSU has ever had and Dickinson/Milam is already one of the best 2nd base/SS combos in the country. They’ve already made numerous highlight reel plays.

Other than catcher I’m not sure what you aren’t seeing with the defense.

Yeah, I remember when Miss State bloodied our mouths last year to start SEC play.
