The Saints have $56,135,391 in cap space in 2026. If they cut Carr after June 1st this year and before June 1st next year the Saints will have $65,672,391 in cap space in 2026.
Loomis is doing what he has to. We have a hole to climb out of and we can't do it with cuts alone.

Insight lacking - crying about every last detail. They think the Saints and Loomis are the only team that restructures etc. several do it the same way we do.

Depends on if Carr wants to retire or continue playing. If he intends to retire, can they extend him with another year in 2027 for league minimum. Then make him a June 1 release in 2027. That allows the saints to average out his $73 mil +- cap hit over 2026, 2027, 2028????

If the saints do what they should do (Slowly shed age and money while agressively getting younger) then Carr’s Capp hit in 2026 doesn’t really matter to me.
Only thing I want the saints to do is nail a couple consecutive drafts and have money to pay those guys in 2028/2029 so we don’t have to watch half them walk like we did with Hendrickson and Williams.
Yes we’re still having to restructure to get compliment but the front office has handled the last two off seasons differently than 2015-2022 years. We spent hardly any money last offseason on FA’s, and only restructured to get a little below what we needed. And looks like we’re doing that again. There’s reason for optimism that Loomis and co has at least mildly learned their lesson.
