Homer take: SGA should be MVP.

But Joker is still the best basketball player in the world.

I won’t be mad if he wins it again.

Hartenstein rim protection early in this game has been.... disappointing.

I'm sure he was trying to avoid early foul trouble and I expect the thunder to win this game in the 2H

how could anyone be mad if he does? he's clearly deserving.

obviously a certain segment will be upset if the white guy or the black guy loses (Stephen A), but noone can be mad either way over basketball reasons

i still love this quote from the other Jokic thread

A Menace to Sobriety:
quote:

I'm sorry but even though SGA has been good, he isn't doing anything special to me. He just happens to have more talent around him than Jokic.

lol SGA is scoring 30+ ppg because of the talent around him, not because he is really fricking good

Ask every gm who they would take for their team.

Everyone would say joker.

Joker should be MVP

Chet killed Joker in the meeting very early in year but he’s in foul trouble.

Arkansas’ own Jaylin Williams has done a good job on him off the bench.

and every GM would take Lebron over Derek Rose in 2011, Lebron over Westbrook in 2017, Shaq over Allen Iverson in 2001,

Duncan/Shaq/Lebron/KG over Steve Nash in 2005.

the voters like to spread it out if its close and give it to the guy that doesn't have one yet. this isn't some new thing. it's fine.

Jokic has already received his roses. if he wins again noone can complain, if he doesn't and SGA keeps up the season he is having he will be plenty deserving.

Maybe.

Joker is 30 vs SGA’s 26 and I wouldn’t be surprised if Joker just randomly retired in ‘27-28 when his current contract ends.

I think thats fair. If Jokic wins it I wouldn’t be upset. I just hate the constant pimping of him when SGA is having a better statistical season. Both are great players but Jokic gets the bigger press. OKC has not had many national TV games and most fans don’t realize his impact. Jokic deserves hos praise but so does SGA.

It was so stupid it was difficult to even engage with. If you honestly believe that the first 30/20/20 game in NBA history was the fifth best game of the night, and conveniently behind two OKC bench players, because an obscure, anonymous Twitter account posted it then you're too far gone to be worth any of my time.

If the award is actually the most "valuable" player on their team, I don't even know what the argument would be other than Jokic. Take Jokic off this Denver team and they are in the lottery. Take SGA off OKC and they are still easily one of the best teams in the west (a testament to how stacked OKC is).

But the NBA has gotten it wrong the last 2 years anyway so it's kind of meaningless.

You sure are spending a lot of time getting owned by me. But your constant whining is the giveaway lol. I shouldn’t be so hard on you I know you are trying your best
