Apparently the LSU-UK basketball game Tuesday night was even worse than it seemed…

I obviously wasn’t watching the McMen Tuesday as I opted to watch the best baseball team in the country play a midweek game against NDSU, but apparently the basketball game was somehow worse than I thought when I saw the score.
Worse than losing by 31 and UK having five white boys on the floor in the closing seconds, it turns out that one of those white boys was a walk on that didn’t even have a jersey until that night…

UK literally put in Rudy on our arse
Cool story though, good for that kid.

Late last August, Kentucky held an open tryout for UK students to participate in. This offered a potential pathway toward joining head coach Mark Pope’s first Kentucky squad.

The tryout came and went. Then, in October, a new UK player was on the court for the Wildcats’ Pro Day event at Memorial Coliseum.
That was Zach Tow, who is listed as a 6-foot-5 junior forward from Madisonville on UK’s roster sheets that are distributed at games. Tow is also listed on ESPN’s roster of Kentucky players, but he’s not on UK’s online roster.

But until Tuesday night against LSU, Tow hadn’t actually been in uniform for a UK game. Tow previously occupied his seat on the Kentucky bench in a sweatsuit, and he hadn’t yet worn the No. 20 jersey that he was listed as having on ESPN and in UK’s media materials.

Getting the jersey is one thing. But checking into a game and officially being recorded as a UK basketball player is another.
quote:
Tow made his way to the scorer’s table, high-fiving UK assistant coach Mikhail McLean along the way, before tucking in his newly awarded jersey and taking his spot along the lane.

If you gave Pope our roster and gave McMahon Kentuckys players the score would’ve been the same.

Makes sense. The three dudes that checked in after Fountain stole the ball for no reason and got fouled with .2 left looked like they got pulled from the crowd.

Of course….you are an idiot if you believe that

Right now 3 of his top 4 players are mid tier transfers. Once he gets a couple cycles in they’re gonna be hell to deal with.

I’m surprised nobody pointed out that 31 years ago, UK played LSU on Mardi Gras and Dale Frickin Brown gave up a 31 point 2nd half lead to lose the game….and LSU loses by 31. If that’s not Gris Gris, idk what is

He lost to Nicholls last season and was down by 28 in that game. Btw that was his best team by far at LSU.

Back years ago for the ice game against Kentucky, I sat by a parent of one of starters. You couldn’t help but notice the huge difference between their top players and the end of the bench players. He said they were realistically managers on the team to keep their GPA up
