Rumors are Rumors …but if it pans out…
Can he translate what he learned himself and performed in the NFL for 13 years…. translate that to young men needing coaching ??

There are numerous individuals in the NFL who lauded Kyle Williams approach to the game, technique and knowledge.
Anyone who denies this is simply not looking for answers regarding him translating as a college coach.
100 dollars says if you ask Nick Saban he will give you your answer.

Underwhelming hire. He has no experience as a college coach

At one point all college coaches never had experience in the college game.

a fact that some here can seem to grasp. Why not talk about what they do bring to the table....experience actually doing what they will be teaching....that is called coaching btw. Living rooms with Williams would be a HR with fathers of recruits wanting to be taught how to get to and prevail in NFL.
I'll take what Williams brings to any other coach out there at this point. He is just a young better version of the coach that just bolted to the Saints.. Both former LSU Tigers.

Don't know if I'd say underwhelming. Nobody can really say how good he wil be at the college level but all indications for everyone surrounding him at all times suggests he can be a very good DL coach.
I'm guessing BK did his research and found those same answers. Worst case here you have People - who's a great DL coach - to pick any potential slack up.

Do they all start in the SEC as the Dline coach?

Going from HS coach to a top 12 ncaa team as a position coach is a big leap.
But you like Williams to succeed

Mike Vrabel started at Ohio State as a LB coach.
Kellen Moore Started in Dallas as the QB Coach.
Kelvin Sheppard started as an outside linebackers coach for the Lions.
Most guys who played years in the NFL don’t go and become a graduate assistant.

About to be an analyst for the Bills until he got the call.

He knows what it takes to make it long term in the league. The body of work will speak to recruits.

It’s a good hire but this is one of the dumber takes.

It’s also March. Not exactly the best time of year to be shopping for a coach. A 10 year nfl vet with ties to the state is pretty damn solid on paper.

Kyle Williams if hired, would be a great choice.
Kyle was coached at LSU by two guy during his time at LSU. Karl Dunbar, who was just early in his coaching career.
The second, Travis Jones, another that was brought in early, only his second stop as DL Coach. Saban thought enough of him.
Remember this, in 2002, Karl was his coach, then in 2003 Travis took over. We just happened to win a NC that year.
I was invited years back to a breakfast, the key speaker had just retired from the NFL, Kyle Williams. The room had folks from all ages, he captured the audience.
A 5th round draft pick did very well in the NFL. The thing about Kyle, he spent his entire Pro career with the Bills, his 13 years, he went through a number of Head, and Assistant Coaches. They ran multiple defenses. Kyle has worked in a 3-4 and a 4-3, never missing a beat.
He will fit in well at LSU.
Too add, Ahmad Breaux was coached by Kyle at Ruston. Breaux was a 3* LB that added around 40 pounds, and played on our DL as a true freshman.

Yea because he has no idea what he’s doing or knows anything about technique and how to mold young men into great dlinemen since he was an all time great Dlineman at LSU and a consistent all pro in the NFL while being coached by some of the greatest defensive line coaches of all time. Yea I’m sure he hasn’t learned anything and will be a horrible coach.

Yes. I want… “ At the time of his retirement, Williams ranked among the top players in Bills history in tackles and sacks and made six Pro Bowls. He was described by the Associated Press as "the heart and soul" of the Bills during his time there.”
