U.S. President Donald Trump's administration is planning to revoke temporary legal status for some 240,000 Ukrainians who fled the conflict with Russia, a senior Trump official and three sources familiar with the matter said, potentially putting them on a fast-track to deportation.

The move, expected as soon as April, would be a stunning reversal of the welcome Ukrainians received under President Joe Biden's administration.

The planned rollback of protections for Ukrainians was underway before Trump publicly feuded with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy last week. It is part of a broader Trump administration effort to strip legal status from more than 1.8 million migrants allowed to enter the U.S. under temporary humanitarian parole programs launched under the Biden administration, the sources said.

Why are we silmutaneously backing a war and harboring potential soldiers that should be home fighting it?

See, I think this might be a mistake. Those are the kind of folks we need, from Eastern Europe.

Unless maybe Trump is thinking that these are the ones who have been ripping us off. In that case, this might force them to pony up the $5 million each to remain.

These guys get sent to my company all the time for pickups as truck drivers through logistics companies. They are remarkably scummy and there’s been all kinds of problems with them.

I actually do not agree with this. Nobody should be forced to fight a losing war.

With that said, send only the men and whatever ugly women filtered through back.

They will vote Democrat out of the “debt” owed them for getting them over here:

No Thanks.

Also, they will be sorely needed to help with the reconstruction effort after the war ends.

It’s too bad we aren’t getting Belarusians. Smarter than Ukraine and Russia combined

One question is, why are they over here in the first place? Ukraine is on the other side of the planet and the Europeans are clearly banging the drum on the importance of fighting this war and supporting Ukraine. Why aren't Ukrainian refugees in neighboring European countries as opposed to traveling across the world to here? That's a peculiar occurrence.

Trump means it when he says he wants peace. He just keeps tightening the noose on that war mongering scumbag Zelensky. Pretty crazy Russia is coming out looking like the reasonable ones in this whole thing.

I would need to know more about this to form an opinion. If these people were seeking asylum then I have a problem with this. I have a tendency to believe there's more to this then what I'm reading.

I have a hard time believing this is actually a true article. This action doesn't seem like something Trump would do. I'm going to have to wait to see what comes of this.

Agreed. Send them back after the peace agreement is signed. And it should be signed by April, which is when this is supposed to happen.

Two families have been with our church for a few years. Small kids and one of them are expecting another. Kids are in public schools, learning English. Parents learned and are well spoken in English and hard working.

But on the other hand how do you at the same time have to draw a line without letting anyone in from anywhere?

Huge Trump supporter but one hits personal and is a tough pill to swallow.

There's a Ukrainian broad working in the lab at our hospital that someone sponsored to come over.

Don't really see the point of sending her back if she is indeed among those discussed here.
