Thinking of driving down there to eat and let my little boy see all the fish people bring in/clean.

Never been on a week day. Is it still fairly busy?

The level of activity will be tied almost directly to the offshore weather forecast. If the tuna charters are rolling, then there will be plenty of action at the docks mid afternoon.

I have heard that the tuna and wahoo bites have been decent. So there should be some fish at the cleaning tables

Doubt there will be much offshore fishing today, it's blowing 20 with 5-6 footers this morning

North winds 5 to 10 knots, becoming west early this
afternoon, then becoming southwest late. Waves 1 to 2 feet this
morning, then 1 foot or less.

nevermind buoy says 22

Offshore catch will be limited to none today with weather, at least before lunch. There may be a few that are getting a late start going to fish the lay this afternoon.

Looking at the weather--Saturday would be your best day to take him.

Regardless of offshore tho--the reds have been on fire last month or so. Should be plenty of activity from the inshore guys cleaning fish.

Be a bad idea to expose a young man to a bunch of drunk deckhands. Had I known at 12 what I know today about drunk deck hands, marina bars and bad weather there is no doubt I would have gone straight to hanging around such places directly and bypassed all this damned career bullshite....

A young boy exposed to a gang of drunk deck hands at a marina bar may learn to cuss, fight, smoke, drink, lie and discuss the merits of various and sundry subjects related to females but what he won't learn in such company is any bad habits or useless shite he is unlikely to be able to make use of in life....
