The Krewe of Argus has informed all riders that there will be no parades in Jefferson Parish on Tuesday for Mardi Gras Day. "Jefferson Parish has informed us that they are canceling all parades on Mardi Gras Day. This decision was made out of an abundance of caution and is based on unsafe weather conditions."

If I never hear the term “out of an abundance of caution” again, I’ll die a happy man.

This phrase should become like a meme

Such a soft world. I don't need someone to tell me to not get on a float with winds gusting to 40mph
Posted on 3/2/25 at 9:11 pm to LSUFanHouston
Why cant they just run them on Wednesday or Saturday?

Are you also afraid Guam might capsize if too many people go on it?

Cynthia Lee is as soft as it gets. All while turning the parish into a crap hole.

Mardi Gras is the feast to end of the Lenten preparation and Ash Wednesday is the beginning of Lent.

All im saying is it shouldn't be up to the city. Let the riders use their own discretion

Yeah but you can still have a heckin parade that people spent months preparing for and tens (hundreds?) of thousands of dollars preparing for

If JP permitted the parade, I assume they could be held liable for injuries if unsafe conditions were forecast.
