A 5th rounder? That’s amazing for Washington.

Agreed. If Sammy can stay Washington just got a huge upgrade.

5th round pick WTF is going on? Dallas Mavericks GM thinks this is a bad deal.

Are rookie contracts truly so valuable that a guy like Deebonis only worth a 5th?

Wow! For a 5th is a steal. Commies going to use that 1st rounder on Omarion Hampton to complete the offense.

What a steal for WAS...especially if he can stay healthy.

Injury prone but shite for a 5th rounder, sure. They have tons of cap. I could see them signing more this offseason

Injury prone
“Injury prone” isn’t the term I’d use, but he has a lot of wear on his tires.
He plays physical, he runs routes in traffic, he’s returned kicks, he’s played running back, etc. He’s gotten beaten up during his career in SF.

Washington is a nice situation for him at QB, I’m a little weary of Kliff is creative enough as a playcaller to take advantage of him at this stage of his career. You need to manufacture touches and he needs to basically be a spot up RB from time to time
The reputation always lags behind play. Usually these guys get traded for nothing, everyone goes crazy because they imagine it as prime version of that player, then the player soesnt meet expectations and history gets rewritten that they traded for some old broken down player and everyone thought so at the time
But being in a good football situation can also lead to this kind of move blowing up in the other direction like moss to NE. Given his injuries and dip in production, I’m not shocked he didn’t go for a high penny. This kind of trade happens every year usually multiple times

I’d love to see him get back to playing well but he was booed off the field by his own fans last season. People acting like they just traded prime Samuel for a 5th round pick might be in for a surprise. He’s fun to watch when playing well though

Just the way this works, flash forward a few years and the fifth rounder will end up being a random all pro left tackle from Missouri state that locks up the left side for the 9ers for the next decade
