I'd put the over/under at 2 months, and I don't even think it will be Trump's fault.

I think the same thing that brought Biden down will be the same thing that brings Trump down – the cost of housing and the cost of shite at the store.

No president can waive a magic wand over inflation and the cost of living, but this is exactly what one million too many Trump voters voted for him for. ...Not just to stabilize inflation, but to actually make shite cost closer to what it did in 2019. It's a complete pipe dream, but it's also the mindset.

It's a bubble here and a political forum, so it's easy to forget that most voters don't care about so much of the wonkier stuff that's discussed around here. It's still all about the economy stupid after all these years, as it turns out.

Unfortunately for Trump, these days the word "economy" is basically code for "inflation and cost of living."

At some point, a big narrative from reluctant Trump voters and/or uninformed Trump voters will be "Trump is worried about all of this other stuff, but he hasn't done anything about the economy."

And there's not a damn thing Trump can do about it, except intentionally manufacture a second Great Depression or Great Recession, and it's only at this point that rent and home prices and stuff at the store will go back to partying like it's 2019.

He’s a psychopath. There is a hard core number of zombies who actually want a dictatorship. There are more of us who don’t. The silent majority of Republicans who are good people but until now have been hoodwinked, asleep, or too afraid to do anything, will ultimately stand up.

The goal needs to be on the supply side. We need to increase supply of all goods to bring prices down.

One obvious area we can do that is energy. A massive expansion of energy supply will have, all things held equal, a substantial deflationary effect on input costs across all industry.

This is exactly the sort of thoughtful and well-explained commentary that I come here for!

And this is different from Trump sycophants defending everything he does how? It’s different sides of same coin. Both stupid.

MAGA will have a 12 year run minimum. You have to be willfully ignorant to look at the ground game right now and think this movement is stalling or losing steam. You think Zuck and these tech oligarchs are doing a 360 and dumping this hard for 4 years?

Buckle up buttercup, you’re about to get your shite pushed it politically as well.

That's a good point. But we better start building or re-designing an arse load of refineries, because right now it's mainly a refinery problem and not an oil problem. There are some Louisiana gas and oil people on the OT Lounge that could explain it way better me, but that's the gist of it.

Would be nice if the OP had stated anything approaching a well-thought, educated, and rational but instead we just got a rambling pile of bullshite. GIGO.

Anyone who makes this comment is clearly uninformed. Trump is capable of doing more than one thing at a time. And, if anyone doubts that he’ll ignite the American economy, they obviously weren’t paying attention during his first term. All the naysayers were wrong then too.

You already know that it’s about to get much much worse for everyone including yourself. Otherwise you wouldn’t say this type of dip cup or spit-bottle carrying guy type of thing. Go have yourself a white monster while you’re at it.

I agree with you, but it doesn't matter if it's an uninformed mindset if it's reality.

I don't think the term "Honeymoon Phase" even applies to Trump. Most Presidents are still exploring their new living quarters after only one month

OTOH, Trump was elected based on some very specific promises he made during the campaign. One month in, I haven't spoken to a single Trump voter who has told me that they have even been the least bit disappointed so far. Trump is doing everything he said he would do, and the pace of his activity has been phenomenal.

Greatest first month ever. This is what the Presidency is suppose to look like.

Okay put it like this I’d rather be on the side that opposes transitioning little kids without parental consent which you and the OP seem to be in favor of.

Well by golly that’s a great month, ain’t it
