I noticed Archer Aviation mentioned in a couple other threads recently and it got me curious. Always looking for the next SLI (joking). SLI has left a bad taste in my mouth investing in pre-revenue companies

Anyone care to share their thoughts on this company? Their business plan sounds great - electric air taxis for cities - but I’m wondering of the feasibility of making it a reality. And how long that might take (5, 10, 15 years?)..

Any discussion is appreciated.

From what I read online it can go anywhere from $1 Trillion by 2040 or $0. Personally I don’t see the business as the future as it seems like there will be many hurdles, but I’m usually wrong. I’m holding 105 shares at 9.02 and have an automated buy of $10 per week.

I bought some shares when is was a little bit more than $4/share. The company and product sounded cool to me so I grabbed some. As of today I’m up around 120%.

Exact same for me. I read an article about them partnering with Southwest (LUV) to develop their technology. Like the idea so grabbed 100 shares @ around 4.50. Been a solid buy so far.

I don't see it being profitable. Those aircrafts are super expensive and do you just build a landing pad at every single persons home address? it's basically helicopter Uber? The amount of Fees, FAA, pilots. I just see this being an extremely expensive endeavor that a few traffic heavy cities will have.

I mean I'm sure they have a plan, but there's no way they could land a helicopter Uber at my place. Where do they land to pick you up? Drop you off?

Not to mention, the price will have to be at least 5x Uber. An Uber ride to the airport costs me $35. That thing will be probably $200 to pick me up and drop me off at an airport. Just as expensive as the plane ticket itself.

To add to this…how would they get enough pilots for this to really grow?

I've been seeing these guys pulling their rig set up with their dully pulling their little tucked in aircraft around the area for a while now. And a couple weeks ago I was out by the Aviation Museum over in San Carlos and ended up running into one of the employees that talked the concept up. Sounds really interesting and looks hella cool at the same time. Very curious on the market for something like this is in the future.

Just my couple cent

Evtol is not intended for individual use to replace cars. It’s a point to point fixed route in high traffic areas- like a shuttle bus. For example Archer has announced a route between Newark airport and battery park. Dubai to Abu Dhabi is another one. If it does catch on you could see routes like Baton Rouge to New Orleans on game days.

Bought 100 shares at $9.34 on Friday to keep me interested. Let’s see where this thing goes!

I usually don’t buy without a good bit of DD. I’ll post some more info when I get time over the coming weeks to dig into this one.
