I saw the chart as many here did also that DOGE discovered. It seems like alot of fraud with the ridiculous stats of people receiving benefits over the age of 100 to 350 yrs of age. Here is the question tho, how is it that basically from birth to age 90 around or close to 200 million people are getting ss benefits? There is no way this can be accurate or even close. How many people are here in America? 350 million?

The chart was for "active" SSN's, not for SSn's receiving benefits. Still not good, but very different.

"Disability" benefits. Not necessarily retirement benefits.

Google "Crazy Checks". Get your kids on Crazy Checks from a shady doctor near you, with a little help from a publicly funded social worker.

I was actually surprised seeing that as well basically in 30s being the largest group.

Wait, 350 million in the country but only 200 million have SSN's?

I need to know more about this take.

Someone needs to audit this system.

We need to learn.

If you're 350 years old you were born in 1675.

That *could* be the result of hitting a 6 instead of a 9 on the numeric keypad. The 50 year old could be disabled or an Anna Nicole Smith type, more likely the latter since she wouldn't be on Medicare yet and thus wouldn't have discovered the mistake.

But anything ridiculous like that needs further investigation.

the way I understood it was that they were getting benefits. But yes the amount of people in the USA vs ssn doesn't add up

Social Security started in 1935, so they gave a SS number to a 260 yr old?

Most if not all of SS benefits are electronically transferred to bank accounts; there usually is no “cashing of checks “. So, i don’t think all those dead people were getting payments, unless the SSN was assigned to someone else.

There could be any number of reasons for all of these anomalies with SS so they need to send out these new IRS agents to investigate every one of them

thats what's interesting is that it has to be multiple frauds occuring where people are collecting off dead people, dead people's money is going elsewhere or is ss money getting funneled to accounts of govt personel? What's the angle? What's the score ? Somebody or some group has to be allowing this to happen for a reason.

No problem, we have been assured that out of all of the SS numbers of individuals reportedly over more then 120 years old, only about 40,000 actually are receiving monthly payments.

TLDR; This issue was already audited by the inspector general and cleared. Yes, there are millions of entries for folks older than 112 in the SSA database. No, they aren't being paid benefits, and the cost to manually correct these death dates and/or add dates in instances where no dates are on file (the vast majority of these cases) would have no positive benefit on cost savings for the SSA, so they aren't going to go back and do it. They have implemented new processes to increase accuracy in the future.

Additionally, the report indicated only 44,000 individuals born in 1920 or earlier were receiving benefits while as of the 2015 census there were 86,000 centenarians reported.

Also, the SSA does not pay claims to people older than 115, by rule.

This is a red herring of an issue, and has already been audited and information on it has been publicly available for years.
