Doing another rewatch. He injects so much energy into a show that was trudging along.

The first portion of BB is underrated in its lesser quality for sure.
What's crazy is that role was supposed to be super limited initially, and ended up spawning a series that was better than BB.

It’s his screen presence that does it. Watching the Jimmy in and out scene in his office. Amazing how much better Bob Odenkirk is than Bryan Cranston or Aaron Paul at this point of the series.

Lalos’ injection into BCS does the same thing and takes it up a notch or two

It was pretty fun rewatching breaking bad after better call Saul. Everyone thought that BCS would eventually run in parallel with breaking bad but it never happened outside of some very isolated scenes.
BCS had made me forget how bob odenkirk portrayed Saul in BB. He is hilarious.

I remember being shocked rewatching BB after BCS how much less he’s in BB than I remember.
But you’re right. The show moves up a notch with him in it.
