Transformers (Michael Bay) was badass

Is this Michael Bay’s best movie besides original Bad Boys?
My son is all into Transformers right now, we haven’t watched any of the others but I showed him the first one. Which I went to in theaters as a 17 year old.
The transformations and the sound effects are outstanding, literally ground breaking, and the CGI is top notch still. The dialogue and story isn’t THAT over the top for a Bay film, it fits what’s it’s going for.
The Transformers films that followed it are dog shite. But I feel like he nailed this one. LeBouf was great casting and it introduced the world to Megan Fox.
Side note, is there a bigger gaffe in cinematic history than Sam walking into the Smithsonian in DC only to step outside into the desert in Revenge of the Fallen?

The Rock is one of my all time favorite movies. So many great random quotes and explosions

The animated one that just came out was really good.
Watch that.

We have, I thought it was great. For whatever reason he didn’t. He likes the Michael Bay version lol

The monologue from Optimus prime and the linkin park song to the credits is a top 20 all time movie ending. I will die on this hill

Fix your thread title. Transformers One is a Transformers movie that just came out last year.

Michael Bay and Jerry Bruckheimer are Gemini twins. It's a shame that they've only thus far teamed up on the Bad Boys films, Peal Harbor, Armageddon, and The Rock.
When I discovered that Con-Air was not one of these collaborations years ago I was absolutely flabbergasted

Those transformers films will give your surround sound a workout and a delightful experience.

The score for the first live action movie kicked arse.
It was way better than I thought it would be.
The sequels were awful.

That is indeed true. In hind sight he was right to do what he did with their designs. The Bumble Bee and Beast Wars might be comics accurate but its missing something. It feels stale.

My wife recently asked me to watch it to see if our boys (7 and almost 6) could watch. Holy crap I forgot how non-PG it was. Absolutely love that movie.

That finale fight in Mission City when Starscream comes down on top of Sam and wrecks the Autobots before transforming up into a jet again might be my favorite little sound effect/CGI scene of all time. Absolutely awesome
Definitely overreacting with “all time” but it’s freaking bad arse

I agree. This movie was and is still amazing. R.i.p. uncle Bobby B. This was also the summer before my senior year.

Great movie. I liked the third one a lot too, when they destroyed Chicago

Hearing Optimus’ voice for the first time in that movie brought my childhood back in an instant

Def one of those movies when its on tv, I'll watch or leave on if doing nothing else...
Not on same level as, but get that treatment like Die Hard and the likes.

Nah fam.
The opening sequence on Cybertron in the Bumblebee movie was perfection design-wise.
I don’t hate the Bay designs quite as much as some other people, but that was it for me. I’m guessing age might have something to do with it, I was a kid in the 80s when the original series and movie were out.
