I know it’s baseball season, but I was looking at the LSU football roster, and I noticed he was listed as a quarterback.

Does anybody know about this? Is it a typo, or has he switched over? That would be kind of interesting.

If we have Ju'Jan back there playing QB, we are in bad shape unless the staff can break some habits that he had in HS. He is a great athlete, though.

Great athlete! I love the idea of puttin JuJu in Da Wild Tigah role! Brian Kelly preparing to make D coordinators scramble for answers already

Definitely not a typo. That’s awesome!
They tried the wildcat (successfully) once against Bama last year but got called back for a hold

Would love to see a goal line package with him at QB. I don’t recall our red zone stats but I believe we were below average and seems like we were pretty predictable inside the 5 yd line.

For those of us who did not get the privilege of seeing Mr. Johnson play in HS, what were those bad habits?

Great athlete, not an every-down college QB.

Somewhat conflicting though…hope they find him a position to stick at. He’s got too much talent to squander. He didn’t have much playing time last year, so it’ll be interesting to see what they do with him this year

I can’t imagine that it’s a typo. Not a great sign imo. It either means Hurley will be out for an extended period of time or they can’t find a position for him.

It’s the latter. He’s a great athlete but is in no man’s land.

I don’t see him getting enough touches on offense or breaking into the lineup in defense at any point in 2025

A few things, though not things that cost you much in HS.

He had a habit of trying to do too much when the team was trailing late, not uncommon, and that sometimes led to mistakes. He threw off his back foot a lot in those situations, he underthrew receivers more than you would think looking at his stats though he had more than a few receivers who tended to get way behind the defense so it was not costly. He was dangerous with the ball when he scrambled and fumbled several times because he carried the ball away from his body in one hand.

This may sound like I am knocking him in high school, but I am not really because he was such a superior athlete that those things were rarely costly and I loved watching him play. He was usually the best athlete on the field. He won't have that luxury in the SEC. It is one reason most people, including Ju'Juan, thought he would play DB.

Thank you for the input.

A lot of those things sound like they can be corrected with good coaching, hard work and film study.

We need to find a way to get our best athletes on the field.

They can but at QB that is something they should have started already. He is also 5'-11", short for an SEC QB even if they have exceptional skills. As I said, if he starts games at QB for LSU this season, we are in serious trouble.,

Sure, but not at the most important position on the field.
