I was talking to a younger friend who had read and loved the short story, but never heard about the movie.

I looked for it on Amazon Prime but found it available for free on YouTube. Such a good movie.

Classic. We had to read the book in Junior High as well.

I remember watching this as a kid. Wasn't there a scene where some dudes in a bar tell Charly that it will snow on the corner of some street, so he stands out there all night waiting for the snow?

One of my favorite movies that was unbelievably sad. The last scene made me cry like a baby.

My husband and I saw the movie Brave the Dark yesterday and it made me think of this movie because the high school drama department was doing the play Flowers for Algernon.

10/23/2013: when Sunny and the League did the back-to-back Flowers for ______ episodes.

Still remember that night clearly, so I guess my intelligence isn’t regressing back to Charly yet

Charly / Flowers For Algernon had an earlier treatment as a one-off TV drama.

"The Two Worlds Of Charlie Gordon aired February 22, 1961 also starring Cliff Robertson.

He negotiated a movie option that finally came together 7 years later.

No screen adaptation can ever capture the genius of the book.
