Saints Build New Stadium

1)We are no longer in the Super Bowl rotation
2)Almost every team has new stadium
3)Dome has some seriously bad view points
4)Out dated luxuries, amenities
So should we build new stadium?

Who is going to pay for this?!?!?!?
I guess we can ask Congress for a Bailout. What's $700 million out of $850 Billion.

this is because we don't have a long term deal with the state in place and the NFL has stated that they will not award a super bowl until we have a long term deal.
the fact of the matter is with the slowing economy the chances of a new stadium in the near future are all but gone. Jindal is not going to spend money on a stadium when the dome is serviceable.
I'd love a new stadium but its just not going to happen anytime soon

No.

you will get more no's here than yes even though I feel the superdome is outdated even with all it's modern amenities on the inside now.
new modern stadiums are the thing now, and Dallas has just raised the bar on everybody.

In the east they are going to develop it into this metropolis anyway using the Lake as it's selling point. Get off that graveyard it's killing us

Nobody is building new stadiums any time soon with this economy.

Hey, they are putting windows in the dome as we discuss. What more could we want?

Didn't we recently spend a couple hundred million to refurbish the stadium? I am pretty sure we did that in lieu of building a new one.

1. We will be in the "rotation" as soon as we get a long term deal worked out. The Superdome is as nice as Dolphin Stadium or Qualcomm Stadium.
2. The Superdome has as many suites and club seats as the new stadiums.
3. Don't buy shitty $18 tickets in the upper corner of the Terrace if you are concerned about having 1/200th of the field blocked out on plays in the back corner of one end zone.
4. have you been in the club level or a suite lately? The Superdome's club level is as nice as any stadium in the NFL.
5. Just my two cents, but new football stadiums are a thing of the past. Dallas and New York got in just under the wire. They are retarded investments. You have EIGHT regular season home games a year. EIGHT. The building is used for its primary purpose for TWENTY-FOUR HOURS A YEAR. People are starting to wake up. Arenas make sense because they attract NBA and NHL teams, concerts, etc. Arenas can be booked for about 125 to 200 nights per year without a sweat. New football stadiums get used 20 dates a year max. There is nothing wrong with the Superdome. Tom Benson gets as much for his club seats and lower seats and upper sideline seats as any owner in the NFL. He could even sell PSL's if the Saints have another season like 2006 and he feels like being a bastard. The demand is there.

I'm so tired of people complaining about the sightlines in the Superdome. Most of you have not been to many other stadiums, but the view from the Terrace in the Superdome is far superior to the view from the upper level in most other NFL stadiums.
The reason for this is that if you've ever been up there you probably realize how STEEP the steps are. You're almost hanging OVER the field in a sense, because you're high up, but you're not pushed way back from the field like you are in the new stadiums (Tampa, Washington, Seattle, etc).
Here is the gripe about the terrace... One tiny sliver of one corner of one endzone is blocked out by the overhang. Big deal. They have a HD screen for that twice-in-a-season scenario. You miss more action by going to buy nachos than you do by this one play every month.
Here's a comparable seat at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa. I'd prefer the Superdome view to be honest. First off, yeah this is a more "open" view in Tampa. But you're pushed back an extra 40 feet or so from the field. You're really far away from the action. I've sat up here before. In the Dome you're more on top of the play. Plus you don't have the goddamned Florida sun in your eye.

its my understanding that we have the full support of all the owners for the next super bowl in line as soon as a long term lease gets done. we dont need a new stadium, especially considering we just spent about 300 mil rennovating the dome and are about to spend more to make it lookj fresh and clean
