I have let mine sit up too long - assuming just needs tune up - can anyone recommend someone that won’t completely piledrive me? I’ve used Greenwell Springs Marine and Boats Unlimited and liked them - just trying to find a better price

I've never used them as I haven't lived in redstick for almost 20 years, but always heard good things about Front to Back boat service.

I’ve heard they are great but not cheap lol

All commercial shops will cost about the same, just need to find someone you trust.
If you’re going for cheap, you need to find a shade tree boat mechanic or buy a manual, watch some YouTube videos and buy some tools. It’s not rocket science and I actually enjoy doing my car/boat maintenance and repairs. I have probably saved $50K in labor charges over the years with my vehicles/boats.

I've heard Pier 21 in Kenner is good. Not sure about their prices though. Might be worth a call.

Most prices are what and what as far as labor is concerned, but a place like H&H Repair in Watson usually has a much quicker turn around to justify their price as opposed to a larger shop like Cajun Outboards or Front to Back. I remember Front to Back said it was like 6 weeks to re-drill a broken alternator bolt

I recently changed water pump, lower end lube, oil, oil filter, fuel filter, spark plugs, fuel injectors, power trim module on 115 Yamaha. filters and spark plugs are obvious no brainers. Other items were very doable with youtube videos, I'm fairly mechanically inclined and with basic mechanics tools, sockets, wrenches etc. it was all pretty simple. And I'm sure I saved a bunch of money. Don't be afraid to go for it. It was quite rewarding and I know it was done right.

You can do this yourself. I did, and I'm no mechanic - believe me. 225hp Yamaha 4-stroke. I found videos on YouTube. I changed the spark plugs, as well as the cylinder head anodes and grommets. I also changed the motor oil and filter, and the lower case oil. And I changed the water separator filter in the bilge. Easy as pie.
I ordered everything from SIM Yamaha (simyamaha.com).

Good to hear! I am going to attempt to tackle some of this myself.

What year/make outboard? How many hours?

We used a guy named Gabe in Kenner to save some money. He definitely cost less, but also cost us a lot of money.
Dude was divorced and more worried about tail than fixing the boats properly. We have not brought the boat back. He cost us twice and never again.

Oh this is a 2003 Yahmah 90 2 Cycle - appearing my problem might be getting fuel - working on changing filter and lines.
