Why was Connie Nielsen so bad in Gladiator 2?(spoilers)

I’m not one to usually notice bad acting and I’m far from a movie critic, but her acting as Lucilla was HORRIBLE. I didn’t think she was bad in the first one or in other things she’s been in, but man she’s bad in this.
The scene where she tells Hano/Lucius his dad was Maximus is just so bad, completely took me out of the moment.

That movie as a whole wasn’t terrible if you look at it more as a 300 style movie rather than a sequel to Gladiator which itself is immaculate

300 was amazing when it came out. Gladiator 2 was always pure shite.

300 is a much more enjoyable, inspiring, and artistic film than Gladiator 2 could ever hope to be.

Gladiator 2 was bad and horribly choppy. It felt like they made major edits and what was left didn’t mesh or flow comfortably.
And yes, some of the acting was atrocious, but for a few of the actors I wonder how much of that was due to what direction they were getting.
Overall the whole thing felt like a CW level production of Gladiator.

I just can’t get over them just titling it Gladiator 2. I’m not sure why it irks so much but it does 
It makes it sound corny like a sequel to another generic action or super hero movie instead of the next chapter of one of the best movies of the past 30 years. Like they could have simply called it Hano and still found a way to let the viewers know it was a sequel to Gladiator .

Have you seen Scott's Napoleon? Gladiator 2 is a masterpiece comparatively.

Nah they both equally suck. I give Napoleon the slight edge only bc it wasnt a sequel. Phoenix and Denzel both phoned in a shitty performance that they never should have been cast for.

Watched it last night because it's probably my favorite of all time and I didn't feel like starting something new.
It's so good that I don't want to watch Gladiator 2 with the lukewarm and negative reactions to it
