Any recommended golf trip destinations in driving distance from North Dallas area? Group of 3-4. Less than 7 hours drive time.

Late March/Early April.

The guys were thinking Missouri with a stop at a course on the way there. I’ve seen the thread on here about Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri. Curious if there’s anything else that could be closer to 4-5 hours away.

Any other ideas?

Do you need multiple courses or is one course fine?

Coworker of mine stayed with a friend that lives in the Hot Springs Village area. Played several rounds of golf there and then they drove up to Branson MO area and stayed at the Big Cedar Lodge Resort. He said that the Ozark courses were fantastic. Not sure how far from North Dallas that would be but definitely worth researching

Heading up to Hot Springs Village at the end of the month based on the recs from you guys.

Playing Granada, Cortez, and Isabella.

Looking forward to it. Anyone here play these courses or have recommendations on where to eat/drink?

If you decide on Hot Springs, check out Hot Springs Country Club, Arlington Course. Built in 1927, redesigned by Coore-Crenshaw. In town near the restaurants/bars, nice course.

East Texas has Tempest and Pine Dunes but I assume you've played those since its only 1.5 hours away.

Mystic Creek in El Dorado, AR is supposed to be awesome. Think thats the only thing there though.

The Biloxi Mississippi area is great for golf. It may be a little over 7 hours to drive though.

Those are the 3 best in the Village, in my opinion. Granada is very, very good. Can you have someone call to get you on Diamante? I love that one too. It's private within HSV but well worth it. Isabella is good too. Cortez is the worst of those three but still a fun course to play.

The grill at Granada's course has some good food that is really cheap (although I just looked it up and it appears its now mexican cuisine). I think a steak there was like $20. Burgers are cheap. There is a pizza place (Molly O'Brien's) right outside of the gates that's damn good too. We ate there a couple of times last trip we made there. We ate lunch at Ponce de Leon after we played there but I couldn't tell you if it was good or mediocre. HSV is a really cool place. We have a group of older guys at our club (24 of them) that go to HSV every September and stay 8-9 days and play a boat load of golf.

Thanks for the info. Just a few of us guys going to swing clubs and hangout away from the families for the weekend.

I’m not sure how to find someone to get us on Diamanté.

You could always just call the pro shop and tell them you are coming up there for a trip and wanted to see if there was any way that you could play. If you or your other buds are members at a club, have the pro call. Otherwise, it wouldn't hurt to just call and ask. They weren't terribly busy when we went so I think they could squeeze a tee time in if they wanted to.

Thanks I’ll give them a call. You’re right. Can’t hurt.
