Good for Vandy, investing in a sport that can compete in. The mistake LSu made was hiring McMahon and paying him millions. They should have went an hired a D2 coach pay him 750k and and dump the rest their money into players and putting a fresh coat of paint on the PMAC or maybe refurbishing the Cow Palace. Whatever money is left, dump it into football

Woodward doesn't care about men's basketball. McMuffin never really had a chance.

Much worse than that. He was hired the same year as McMahon and turned them around immediately into a tourney team. The roster turned over, they sucked arse, and went winless last season so he turned the roster over again this offseason and now they're back in the top 25. He's done two successful rebuilds in the same time McMahon has done none.

He's in year 3. In year 2 he had them 0-18 in SEC play

Sounds good but it's not true, he's in his 3rd year after going 0-18 in the sec in his 2nd year but carry on

Just stop. McMatt is exempt from all judgment. The fact that he didn’t cancel the season after Jalen Reed went down is absolutely incredible. What a job he has done and you are unappreciative.

Let me remind you.

quote:

The uncertainty surrounding LSU's future in the NCAA infractions process means McMahon will inherit one of the most uncertain situations in all of college basketball. LSU's notice of allegations from the Complex Case Unit of the Independent Accountability Resolution Process includes seven Level I violations and a Level II violation tied to Wade's tenure. A decision from the IARP is due in the upcoming months, and it's impossible to project the extent of the potential violations.

And a year later.

quote:

Penalties for the LSU men's basketball program include:
A reduction in scholarships by one over the 2023-24 season and by one over the 2024-25 season
A 15-week ban on unofficial visits during the 2022-23 academic year
Reduction in the total official visits permitted by two during the 2022-23 academic year
A seven-week ban on telephonic communication with all prospective men's basketball student-athletes during the 2022-23 academic year
An off-campus recruiting restriction of 20 days in 2022-23

Let me remind you that he has, despite this, out recruited most of the conference (on paper) during his time year and we still suck.

We're on a 18 year plan, it's fine mfrs.

Honestly, we're under 3 hours from tip-off from you post. Let us at least watch our game and melt afterwards.

god forbid you post facts

Point stands though that he did 2 rebuilds in 3 years and is looking at putting together 2 top 25 squads in that time. It’s happened all over the SEC with quick rebuilds (Ole Miss, Florida, MSU, Missou) and I may be missing others. McMahon isn’t an SEC caliber coach

Draconian sons. It's like MBB vacated 37 wins like football, or Wade was sexually assaulting co-eds.

His 23 class was one of the worst in the SEC. 12th out of 16. His first class was ranked high because he signed so many guys trying to fill out the roster.

The freshman now could be very good.
